Dakine snow and watersports was founded in Hawaii in 1979 by Rob Kaplan as a side project, making surf leashes for his friends. They are now located at the base of Mount Hood in Hood River, Oregon; one of the top windsurf spots in the world. Dakine is now a market leader in creating high quality products for windsurfing, kitesurfing, surfing, skiing and snowboarding. On the snow side they are the leaders in luggage, backpacks, gloves, outerwear and tuning products. One of Dakine’s most popular innovations is the Heli Pro backpack; regarded as the best ski backpacks every made. On the watersports side, they are best known for creating quality windsurf/kitesurf harness, board bags, travel bags, clothing and accessories. Dakine is a firm favourite within the Fluid Lines team.
